Lilliput Children's Theatre
Our Story
For over five decades, Lilliput Children’s Theatre has been a vibrant hub of creativity, shaping young minds through the performing arts in Trinidad and Tobago. Founded by Noble Douglas and Tony Hall, Lilliput was established to provide a space where children could develop confidence, self-expression, and a deep appreciation for theatre arts. Through drama and contemporary dance, students are encouraged to explore their imaginations, build discipline, and discover the power of storytelling.
Lilliput has become a cornerstone of Trinidad and Tobago’s cultural landscape, renowned for its innovative productions and commitment to nurturing young talent. With a curriculum that blends theatre, movement, and performance, the school provides students aged 3 to 17 with an immersive arts education. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, Lilliput continues to inspire the next generation of performers, instilling in them a lifelong love for the performing arts.
Director
Wendell Manwarren
Wendell Manwarren has been a vital part of Lilliput Children’s Theatre since 1995. His journey began as a tutor and assistant director, where he discovered a passion for working with young, imaginative minds. Introduced to Lilliput by John Isaacs, Wendell found himself drawn to the opportunity to inspire and teach children through drama and performance. Over the past 25+ years as Director, he has played an instrumental role in shaping the theatre’s artistic vision and impact.
Reflecting on his time at Lilliput, Wendell says, "I discovered a power I never knew I possessed and began an incredible journey of growing and knowing and showing, along with my young charges and making show after show, year after year, until here we are today." His vision for Lilliput remains one of continued growth, development, and a steadfast commitment to the young people of Trinidad and Tobago, carrying forward the legacy of "Aunty" Noble Douglas.
